These
poems were written by
Sei Shonagon, a lady-in waiting at the
Japanese Heian DynastyImperial Court at the very end of the
10th century and they were the core of director's
Peter Greeenaway film "The Pillow Book". These poems sadly
are not translated in the film and this is your only chance to
discover them.
Click
on the images and follow poetically her life-story through several
types of lovers she met during her life, with the visual help of
Peter Greenaway. Discover the similarities, the beautiness and
the details of these poems, to the lovers we all met 1.000 years
later.
The
order I placed them, even though it's not similar to the movie, is
not unintentional and describes a lover's sentimental condition
as he grows older. |
